You’ll hate it or love it; there is no middle ground with Venice Beach. Some will only see smelly, dirty homeless people begging for money to buy weed, while others will be memorized by the art and amount of little details in every direction. It’s a place to be real, to be you. From the super rich to the dirt poor, people wonder the boardwalk expanding their level of awareness.
Because Venice Beach is so free and real it naturally attracts artists from all over the world and this is why Venice Beach is so important to the art community. By allowing people to be who they want to be, you can see some of the most talented artists showing off their work there and constantly push the limits of art. The competition is great! The talent is amazing and the people are real!
This is the second time Dunkees has been part of the Venice Art Crawl and every time I have been there, something always blows my mind. I love it! It keeps me wanting to do even better art, push my self even more in hopes that my work can inspire others artists to create better art and keep the creative cycle flowing!
Thank you, Venice Beach.

I was inspired tonight to write a little something about your dreams.
Think back to when you where a little kid. I am sure you had a dream. Whether it was to become a singer, a famous artist or a doctor, we all had a dream and nothing was going to stop us from getting there. As we grow up and leave our parents nest we are subject to many influences of the world, which sadly, are mostly negative. The dream becomes further and further buried in your mind. Buried behind doubt, fear and outside influences that don’t always want the best for you. Your imagination dies, your hope fades and become just another battery in the power source for the greedy and heartless individuals running the show. You have to dig deep, find that dream and let it flourish. Don’t let it die. Be what you want to be, be who you want to be. Never give up and follow your dreams. The road is hard, stressful and at every point you will want to give up, but you can’t! You have to find that little voice inside, that strength to want to keep going, to want to achieve your dreams! There are no short cuts, there is no easy way up and most of the time, people quit right before they reach their dream.
As a very dear friend of mine once said “The key to success is: Spread positivity. Think big. Smile. Pray. Never give up. Don’t get too comfortable. Word hard. Help others. Stay true to yourself!”
